gerry quigley – guitarist/composer
Dublin guitar wizard and composer Gerry Quigley has returned home to Ireland after 30 successful years in Australia .. it’s no surprise that he is captivating the crowds where ever he plays – this is some serious stuff!
When you hear Gerry Quigley and and his band play his signature style of celtic blues-prog – you just know that you are in the presence of something special ..
Still remembered by many as “Metaller” the mad lead guitarist of Dublin’s late 70’s heavy rock band Raw Deal (voted No.1 Irish band by Radio Dublin in 1978) who acheived international fame, from those first few magical notes you know why Gerry is so often compared to his own guitar superheroes including Gary Moore, Rory Gallagher, Peter Green, Paul Kossof, Jimi Hendrix, Roy Buchanan and of course his own childhood guitar teacher, living guitar legend and Thin Lizzy founding guitarist Eric Bell.
The musical magic Gerry creates with his band will leave you spellbound – with powerhouse Frank “Muddy” McNally rocking the stage on lead vocals/bass, Jimmy “Seamus” Howlett (UK) keeping it all together on drums, and Sharon “Rockin’ Rev” grooving on piano, hammond and synth.
Quigley will mesmerise you with his eclectic collection of guitars and things with strings including his No.1, Gibson Les Paul to his Fender Strat, Telecaster, Dobro Slide, 12-string Acoustic, Gibson 135, mandolin and more including some seriously mad sounds from his one of a kind double-neck mandola/bouzouki named Shaun (Séan) and Sheela (Síle)!
Pumping out his own brand of spine-tingling blues, blues-rock originals and classics, along with his signature instrumentals – blues-inspired dreamy prog rock originals and mystical magical celtic blues .. Quigley and his band will at times entrance you and take you away to another world.
